I’ve been a big fan of Little & Friday’s donuts for some time and when I think of treating myself to a sweet treat, a picture of their heavenly cream donuts fill my head.
Light yet doughy, crispy yet light, if you fancy making yourself some homemade donuts then this is the recipe for you.
Never having made donuts before, the dough worked out just beautifully and the raspberry coulis is really the simplest thing to make. Never having fried anything like this before, it did take me a while to figure out the best way for hot oil + dough to come to an understanding. A few donuts ended up cooking way too fast resulting in a dark crispy outer layer but too gooey inner, while others took ages to get that beautiful dark caramel coating. But out of 15 gorgeous rounds of donuts, 11 did past the test.
Result? Gorgeously divine homemade donuts almost as good as the ones Little & Friday serve everyday.
Not bad for a first attempt eh?
